As an Independent Midwife I have undergone the same level of midwifery education and training as NHS midwives, and have indeed worked within the NHS during my career. However, the reason I have chosen to offer care outside of the NHS, is to provide women and their families with one-to-one, women-centred care without the constraints that often hinder the care NHS midwives would like to offer. I aim to offer a service which has a strong holistic focus and believe it is important to consider not only the physical aspects of care, but also emotional, cultural, religious and spiritual needs on an individual basis. In promoting a positive attitude towards pregnancy, birth and parenthood I hope to empower and nurture women's instinctive trust in their body's ability and enable women and their families to enjoy pregnancy and birth their babies the way they choose. I am particularly interested in Homebirth, Water birth, Lotus birth, Breech birth and Vaginal Birth after Caesarean. Married to Paul and Mum to six wonderful children aged between 19 years and 18 months, I have a busy, noisy family life! My interests include running, the gym, pole dancing, food and people.
