The packages offered. Initial Consultation The initial consultation is an informal opportunity for you to meet me and ask any questions you may have. There is no obligation to book any services during this appointment. Antenatal Care
This usually lasts 1-2 hours and is an opportunity to meet you and your family in the comfort of your own home. During this appointment we will take a detailed record of your medical and family history and provide you with your handheld notes in which we can record not only your medical details but also your hopes, fears and aspirations for the coming months.
Antenatal appointments take place in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. The usual antenatal appointment schedule comprises of visits every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and finally weekly until the birth of your baby. During these visits your blood pressure and urine will be checked, along with fetal wellbeing and growth. There will be an opportunity to discuss any needs or concerns you may have. Should you require blood tests, scans or obstetric consultant input we will be happy to discuss this with you and make the arrangements. The Birth We are happy to offer homebirth, waterbirth and VBAC. Should you require or desire to transfer into hospital at any stage we will continue to support you. Postnatal Care Flexible postnatal and breastfeeding support on an individualised basis for 28 days following delivery. This is also offered as a stand alone service.
Back Up Cover Your care will primarily be provided by myself but should we feel the need to have another midwife at your birth then back up from an Independent Midwife colleague will be arranged.
Our fees (sadly we have to charge...) Initial Consultation - £50 We charge £50 to cover the costs of the initial consultation which we will then deduct from the full package if you decide to book with us. Full Care Package - £3,200 All antenatal appointments in the comfort of your own home. A booking visit, antenatal appointments monthly until 28 weeks, fortnightly until 36 weeks and then weekly until your birth. 24 hour on call service from 37 weeks until delivery. The cost can be spread over an agreed period of time. All costs exclude blood tests, scans and obstetric consultation. These can be arranged via your GP if you are eligible for NHS care or can be performed privately. We will be happy to arrange this for you if required. Postnatal Care Package - £700 As a stand alone package
